We also work with BAFTA on a programme of screenings and events in the South West of England as part of BAFTA in the Regions.

Following on from the successful event held in January 2008 (details available here), South West Screen is planning another one day conference to look at 360 degree commissioning and how TV production and digital media companies can work together. More details will be announced soon.

WMG: Producing Content for On Demand Markets
12 November 2008 - 6pm at The Media School, Bournemouth University
Tom Smith of advertising agency Universal McCann presents highlights of his recent study into global social media and suggests ways creative content producers can benefit their businesses. Social media is a global phenomenon with the likes of Facebook, Bebo and My Space constantly offering new content posting opportunities to consumers around the world. But what possibilities does this offer content producers either as an outlet for their productions or as an adjunct to work they are currently doing for more traditional commissioners? GMG: Accelerator Launch Party

PM-P: BBC Network Commissioning Event
13 November 2008 - 6pm at Royal Western Yacht Club, Queen Anne's Battery, Plymouth
Plymouth Media-Partnership along with its sister clusters in the South West have teamed up with the BBC to bring some of their top executives to Plymouth to tell our members what their digital strategy is, what they are looking for and how to pitch to them. Whether you are a freelancer, a small business or a larger company, this is a great opportunity to spend an evening both listening to what the BBC have to say and then networking with them and fellow attendees. Cineformation: Pitching Event at Encounters Short Film Festival
20 November 2008 - 7.30pm in the Delegates Area, Watershed Media Centre
Would you like to get your script read by the movers and shakers of the film industry? Can you keep the panel and audience entertained for two minutes and get them begging to hear more? Then you should come along to the Cineformation Pitching event during the Encounters Short Film Festival. There will be a panel made up of producers, directors and funders all keen to seek out new talent - have you got what it takes or will you be asked to stop before your time is up? Crossing the Void: bringing TV and digital companies together to create multi platform content - 29 January 2008
A one day conference which will answer the question what is a multi-platform programme and what are the mix of skills needed to create that content, with insight from commissioners and broadcasters, alongside first hand experience and case studies from producers. This event will also incorporate a showcase of projects from the Convergence Alliance scheme.
